Template Anatomy

Templates are built on a flexible structure designed to accommodate various veterinary workflows. Here’s a breakdown:

Using Templates

Okay! Now let’s get into the juicy stuff: How do you actually create and use Templates?

1️⃣ Accessing Templates

1. Open the VetScribe app on your phone or tablet.
2. Tap "📋Templates" on the bottom row.
3. You'll see several pre-loaded templates, or the option to create your own.

2️⃣ Building a Template

VetScribe offers 3 pre-built, DVM-approved templates to cover common case types and help get you started:

• "Vomiting / Diarrhea"
• “Limping”
• “Bite Wounds”

You can also follow the instructions to create your own template!

3️⃣ Using the Template

Once you've created a template, the fun starts! You can use your templates to create a complete case note from one recording.

• Record your findings: Use VetScribe's voice-to-text feature to capture your notes as you examine the patient.
• Navigate to your Patient, add a New Case, select the “Use template” toggle, and pick your template from the dropdown:

• Start recording! Your voice note will automatically populate the template sections.
• Note: It can take a few minutes to show up while we process the recording + template in the background. We find that most are done in under 2 minutes but they can take longer based on the length of your template and recording

📝 Only use one recording per template! Additional recordings will overwrite the previous inputs

4️⃣ Adding to Your EMR

As always, your case notes are saved as-you-go to your VetScribe account, which you can access from any device.

• Log into the web app (app.vetscribe.co - we recommend bookmarking this in your browser) using the same login credentials as your mobile app

• Navigate to the case note you want to copy and click “Copy text”

• Paste into your EMR system in desired case section (Ctrl+V / ⌘+V)

• Repeat as needed!

  

5️⃣ Managing Your Templates

VetScribe allows you to easily manage your collection of templates.

• Edit or delete templates: You can edit or delete any of your custom templates or their contents. Just keep in mind, we don’t store any of your data outside of your account, so any deletion can’t be undone!
